Jimmy Trulli bounces back from rough time at ASCS
Northwest Speedweek with an 8th place finish Friday Night in Civil War
Sprint Car action at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, and brings home 2nd
place finish at Placerville Speedway Saturday night.
Starting Friday night in Chico, Californias Silver Dollar Speedway,
the night started off rough as the fuel pump was not working correctly and
the team had to make a mad dash to get it changed out so that we could get
out for our hot laps. After checking things over, the crew was able to
get the pup changed out, and get the car into hot laps. With little
time to adjust the car Jimmy talked things over with crew chief Willie, and
they set the car up for Qualifying. With a time of 12.427 seconds
around the 1/4 mile track, Jimmy would have the 20th quick time of the
night, and would start at the front of his heat race. Jimmy would
start on the outside of the first row and would fall into the 2nd position
for 8 laps. then things would change as Jimmy would move into the lead
on lap 9 and win his heat race, putting him directly into the Main event!!!
Starting the Main event, Jimmy would start in the 15th
position and would move forward all race long. Jimmy would move up to
the 14th spot on lap 2 as the 1X of Brett Miller had some issues and
retired. Then on lap 9 jimmy would move into the 13th spot, as the 29
of Willie Croft retired the race. Jimmy would be battling with Mike
Benson all race long, as they raced hard and continued to climb into
positions By lap 27 Jimmy was in 9th place, and on Lap 30 Jimmy would gain
one more spot into the 8th position.
Jimmy would then head to his home track @ Placerville
Speedway July 19th where Jimmy would have one of his best nights of the
year. With a Qualifying time of 10.913, which would put Jimmy 6th fast
time of the night. With 21 cars on hand, There would be only 3 heat
races, and jimmy would have to shoot for 5th place or better to get his time
back in the Main Event which is where he would finish.
Jimmy would then start in the 5th place spot in the Main event, and
Jimmy would get a great start, and move up to 2nd place on the first Lap.
Jimmy would then Chase down the 14r of Scott Russell for 15 laps, and then
get passed by the 35 of Colby Wiesz on lap 16. But would still maintain 2nd
place, as Russell cut down a tire and would have to retire. Jimmy would
then battle with Wiesz and in the end would finish in the 2nd position.
Next race for Trulli Racing is August 2nd at Placerville Speedway in California Civil War Action!!!
